Several Affiliated Scholars, including Dr. Laura Olson, Dr. Melissa Deckman, Dr. Mark Rozell, andDr. Kerem Kalkan, will appear alongside PRRI CEO Dr. Robert P. Jones and PRRI Research Director Daniel Cox as part of a roundtable conversation on “Religion and Values in the 2012 Election,”which will take place at 4:35 pm on Saturday, April 13.
Meanwhile, the Affiliated Scholars will also be presenting papers on a variety of panels.
Dr. Melissa Deckman of Washington College will present a paper titled “A Gender Gap in the Tea Party? A Gendered Analysis of Tea Party Voters in the 2012 Presidential Elections,” (available online here) at a panel called “Understanding the Origins of the Gender Gap in Voting and Partisanship” on Friday, April 12 at 4:35 pm. Dr. Deckman will use data from PRRI’s 2012 American Values Surveyas the basis for her analysis.
Dr. Paul Djupe of Denison University will present several papers, including “Culture War Counter-mobilization: Gay Rights and Religious Right Groups in the States,” at a panel on “The Changing Bases of the American Political Parties,” which will take place on Saturday, April 13 at 2:40 pm.
Dr. Laura Olson of Clemson University will present several papers, including “Understanding Political Diversity among American Mormons,” at a panel on “Religious Minorities Across Political Contexts” at 8:30 am on Thursday, April 11.
