A lone gunman has killed one and wounded at least three others on Thursday at Seattle Pacific University, a Christian university of about 4,000 near downtown Seattle.

One of the victims, a man in his 20s, has died, according to reports. A female victim was in critical condition and in surgery. Two men are in satisfactory condition.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Aaron Ybarra after a student fought him while he was reloading his shotgun. The student, Jon Meis, was working as a building monitor and reportedly pepper-sprayed him, put him in a chokehold and tackled him to the ground.

The campus went into lockdown for several hours. The suspect was carrying extra shotgun shells and a knife.

This isn’t the first shooting at a Christian college in recent months. In November, one student was killed in a dorm shooting at Liberty University in Virginia.
