If the philosophy of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth was one we all embraced, most of us would be without eyes and teeth.”

— Martin Luther King III, son of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., asked what he would say to violent protesters in Ferguson, Mo., where an unarmed black teen was shot and killed  Aug. 9 by a police officer. He was quoted by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
