Franklin, Tenn., May 1, 2015 – “Return To The Hiding Place” is releasing today, May 1, from EchoLight Studios and is set to screen in more than 700 EchoLight Cinemas’ locations across the United States.
“Return To The Hiding Place,” starring John Rhys- Davies (“Killing Jesus,” “Indiana Jones And The last Crusade” and “Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings”) and Mimi Sagadin (“The Dilemma” and “Side Effects”) and directed by Peter C. Spencer and Josiah Spencer, won several awards, including Best Feature Film at the 2013 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival and Best Feature Film at The Bel-Air Film Festival. The film also received high praise at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Franklin Graham, whose father, world famous evangelist Billy Graham, produced “The Hiding Place,” has also endorsed “Return To The Hiding Place.”
“Peter Spencer has done an incredible job in creating the new film ‘Return to the Hiding Place.’ It is a great piece, well-produced and powerful,” said Graham.
“Return To The Hiding Place” is based on the true story of brilliant young physics student Hans Poley, who chooses to risk his life when he refuses to join the Nazi Party. To protect him, Hans’ parents force him into hiding in the home of Corrie ten Boom, famous for hiding Jews during the Nazi regime. While under her protection, Hans witnesses the atrocities the Nazis inflict upon the Jews and decides to take action. However, Hans is not alone. Resistance fighter Piet Hartog invites Hans, as well as Piet’s true love, Aty van Woerden (Corrie ten Boom’s niece), into an intricate web of espionage and clandestine activities operating out of the famous Hiding Place.
“We are excited about this opportunity to partner with the producers of ‘Return To The Hiding Place’ and share this incredible story which has been lingering in the shadows of history,” said Jeff Sheets, president of EchoLight Studios. “This story resonates now more than ever with the upheaval in our current culture. It is our hope that everyone who watches this film is inspired to take action, just as Corrie ten Boom, Hans Poley, Piet Hartog and so many others did, when they see injustices taking place in their own backyard.”
