Religion News Service launches Religion Hub

Religion News Service

Religion News Service (RNS) is pleased to announce the launch of Religion Hub, a new feature that highlights the religion journalism of RNS, The Associated Press (AP) and The Conversation/U.S. (TCUS). It appears on the RNS homepage, as well as on a separate landing page, found here.

The Hub is a project of the Global Religion Journalism Initiative – a collaborative effort of the three publications that is funded by Lilly Endowment  Inc. The Initiative seeks to improve understanding of the world of faith. It also seeks to significantly increase the volume and reach of high-quality news stories about religious faith and practice and the impact of religion in the U.S. and around the world. The Initiative’s journalism provides balanced and nuanced coverage of major world religions, with an emphasis on explaining the religious practices and principles behind current events and cultural movements.

“Religion and beliefs affect nearly every aspect of the world around us,” said Deborah Caldwell, CEO and Publisher of Religion News Service. “The Religion Hub allows us to display our shared coverage, showing the breadth and impact of religion, spiritual practices and beliefs worldwide. Thanks to support from Lilly Endowment, the Global Religion Journalism Initiative seeks to expand the public’s understanding of religion’s role around the world.”

The Hub offers a curated feed of balanced cutting-edge religion news, features stories and explanatory reporting from RNS, AP, and TCUS. Offering its readers “one-stop shopping” about issues central to religion and faith, the Hub provides readers trustworthy and timely news.

Along with launching the Hub, RNS has grown significantly across all digital media platforms in the last year, increasing its website audience size, social media following and email newsletter subscribers. RNS also launched a new membership platform, and relaunched its subscription service.

About Lilly Endowment Inc.

In addition to strengthening the leadership and vitality of Christian congregations throughout the United States, the Endowment’s grantmaking in religion aims to support fair and accurate portrayals of the role religion plays in the U.S. and across the globe.
