WASHINGTON — Dr. Ryan Burge, renowned political scientist, has joined Faith Counts as Director of Research. Dr. Burge will oversee content and research for the new Faith Facts Data Center, a wide-ranging guide for journalists and scholars about faith’s impact across society.

Kerry Troup, Director of Faith Counts says, “Dr. Burge is the country’s leading expert on the links between religion and society. He excels in translating academic discoveries in an honest and entertaining style. Under his leadership, millions of Americans will grasp the facts about faith.

“There is a need for a repository of data and religion. Faith Facts has the right strategies in place to deliver this information, and I’m pleased to oversee the effort,” states Dr. Burge.

CBS News’ 60 Minutes calls Dr. Burge “one of the country’s leading data analysts on religion and politics.” He regularly appears as an expert in major news outlets, and has been published in the Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. He has produced over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, and wrote The Nones: Where They Came From, Who They Are, And Where They Are Going and 20 Myths About Religion and Politics in America. He will continue his teaching and scholarship at Eastern Illinois University.
