Text With Jesus launches voicemail-style audio responses from biblical figures
New “Voicemails” feature lets users request spoken responses during faith-based AI conversations
Catloaf Software, Inc., creator of the conversational AI app Text With Jesus™, today announced the launch of Voicemails, a new feature that allows users to request spoken audio messages instead of text replies during conversations with biblical figures.
The feature is designed to give users a more personal way to engage with faith-centered conversations in the app. Instead of receiving only a written response, users can ask for a voicemail-style audio message from the character they are chatting with, including figures such as Jesus, Mary, the Apostles, prophets, and other biblical characters available in Text With Jesus.
First launched in 2023, Text With Jesus introduced a new way for Christians and spiritually curious users to explore Scripture, biblical narratives, and questions of faith through interactive conversations. The new Voicemails feature builds on that original vision by allowing users not only to read responses, but to hear them spoken as part of their reflection.
“Text With Jesus was created to help people engage with Scripture and faith in a more approachable and interactive way,” said Stéphane Peter, founder and CEO of Catloaf Software, Inc. “With Voicemails, users can request a spoken response when they want the conversation to feel more reflective, personal, or prayerful.”
The feature arrives as many religious communities, educators, and faith-based creators continue to explore how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly in spiritual, educational, and devotional contexts. Catloaf Software emphasizes that Text With Jesus is designed to complement, not replace, traditional study, prayer, worship, pastoral guidance, or participation in a faith community.
“Technology should not replace the deeper practices that shape faith and learning,” Peter added. “But when used thoughtfully, it can open new avenues for reflection, discussion, and discovery.”
Voicemails is also available in Catloaf Software’s companion apps, Text With Authors and Text With History, where users can request spoken responses from literary and historical figures. In those apps, the feature is intended to support learning, curiosity, and more immersive engagement with literature, culture, and history.
The Voicemails feature is available now in Text With Jesus, Text With Authors, and Text With History.
