(RNS) Frances Hunter, the partner with her husband Charles in a decades-long healing ministry, died Tuesday (July 14) at the age of 93, her ministry announced.
The couple, known as “The Happy Hunters,” prayed for the sick across the globe and authored dozens of books, including “How to Heal the Sick.”
“Charles and Frances Hunter were the most effective couple I ever saw among healing evangelists,” Pentecostal historian Vinson Synan, dean emeritus of the Regent University School of Divinity, told Charisma Magazine’s Web site. “In their own unique way, they touched multitudes with the positive healing message.”
The magazine said the couple held a “Worldwide Day of Healing for All Nations” in 2007 that was featured in a global broadcast on television and the Internet.
Both of the Hunters had been in frail health in recent years. Their daughter, Joan Hunter, will now oversee the ministry.
Frances Hunter weighed only two pounds at birth and was not expected to live, but instead kept working daily with her Kingwood, Texas-based ministry and attending church weekly until shortly before her death.
