I’d just about give my right arm to hear legendary Yankee Stadium announcer Bob Sheppard (often invoked, by my family at least, as the “voice of God”) make that call.
The WashPo’s Jacqueline Salmon has a story about the pope’s April visit to the nation’s capital. The only public event planned is a Mass at the Washington National’s new baseball stadium on April 17.
Nationals officials originally had Benedict playing second base, where they were going to put the altar, but then they realized they could fit about 4000 more people in the stadium if they moved the pontiff to centerfield.
I don’t know about the move, I mean Benedict still has the agility to turn the double-play, but can he catch long fly balls in the alley?
