UNITY VILLAGE, Mo.—Thousands of people will join Silent Unity®—a global, transdenominational, 24/7 prayer ministry—and Unity churches and centers around the world on September 10, 2015, for the 22nd annual Unity World Day of Prayer. The theme of the 24-hour prayer event is “Pray Up Your Life, Pray Up the World.” This year’s affirmation is “As I pray, I connect my highest thoughts with my deepest faith.”

“World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God and all life,” said Silent Unity Vice President Rev. Lynne Brown. “Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our individual lives and in the world.”

The 24-hour prayer vigil will begin on the Unity Village campus the evening of Wednesday, September 9, and continue through Thursday, September 10. Unity minister Rev. Charline E. Manuel, author of the book Pray Up Your Life (Balboa Press, 2012), will provide opening remarks at 7 p.m. Wednesday, in the Activities Center. Singers/songwriters Stowe Dailey and Karen Taylor-Good, known as StoweGood, will perform a closing celebration at 7 p.m. Thursday, in the Activities Center.

“The 24-hour prayer vigil traditionally begins with a beautiful candlelight walk across our central courtyard,” said Brown. “This year, to mark the 125th anniversary of our prayer ministry, floating lanterns in the courtyard fountain will honor the generations who have turned to Silent Unity for prayer support.

“People from locations around the world will unite in prayer during this event,” she added. “We invite you to pray with us, and as a symbol of your prayers, to light a virtual candle at worlddayofprayer.org. The candles will be displayed as points of light on a global map—visually expressing the theme ‘Pray Up Your Life, Pray Up the World.’”

All events are free and open to the public. Live-stream coverage is available at worlddayofprayer.org.
