It’s not too late to enter RNA’s Religion Reporting Awards

Two days remain to enter the 2017 RNA Awards for Religion Reporting Excellence. More than $10,000 in 20 award categories is up for grabs this year. The deadline is this Friday, Feb. 10.

Two days remain to enter the 2017 RNA Awards for Religion Reporting Excellence. More than $10,000 in 20 award categories is up for grabs this year. The deadline is this Friday, Feb. 10.

Many categories only require one story (or video, photo, podcast, book, etc.) for entry.

This year prizes will be awarded in the following categories:


BROADCAST:

  • Television news magazine
  • Television local news
  • Television national network/cable news
  • Documentary
  • Radio or podcast

NEWSPAPERS:

  • Small newspapers
  • Mid-size newspapers
  • Metropolitan newspapers
  • Large newspapers & wire services

MULTIPLE MEDIA:

  • Feature writing
  • Enterprise, series and serials
  • Commentary
  • News analysis
  • Short video
  • Online religion sections
  • Photography: single image
  • Photography: galleries

MAGAZINE:

  • Magazine news reporting
  • Magazine overall excellence

BOOKS:

  • Nonfiction religion books

STUDENTS:

  • Student religion reporting

ENTRY, PRIZES, DEADLINES:

Prizes: 1st ($250 + citation); 2nd ($150 + citation); 3rd ($100 + citation)

Deadline: Friday, Feb. 10
(Note: the student category deadline is May 1)

You need not be an RNA member to enter; multiple entries per person permitted.
