NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mount Zion Baptist Church, one of Nashville’s largest megachurches, will expand its services beginning Saturday, Aug. 12 at 5:15 p.m. with “Live @ Five” at the Jefferson Street location.
Mount Zion’s senior pastor of 25 years, Bishop Joseph Walker, will lead the weekly evening, 75-minute, Saturday service, which was established to meet the growing demand for a weekend service in the Jefferson street area that was expressed by families and young professionals living in downtown Nashville. The service will complement the Jefferson location’s current Wednesday service at noon. With the added service, Bishop Walker, who will lead all services, now offers eight services in three locations – Jefferson Street, Murfreesboro Road and Old Hickory Blvd.
“We are elated to deliver the Word of God to an entirely new group of parishioners who have voiced the need for an additional service during a time that accommodates working professionals’ schedules,” said Bishop Walker. “We welcome new downtown worshippers – from Germantown and Jefferson Street to the Gulch and beyond – to join us for an uplifting, spiritual experience that will guide them through the week in all that they do.”
