PORTLAND, Ore. — Dan Schutte’s newest collection celebrates God’s eternal gifts of Love and Grace. The collection draws its name from Dan’s cherished song, “These Alone Are Enough.” Containing a variety of musical styles and topics, Love and Grace not only provides a treasury of songs for the celebration of the Eucharist, but also offers a perfect resource for retreats, workshops and personal prayer. With Dan’s signature melodies and supporting instrumentation, beginning musicians will love the accessibility of this collection, while the more experienced will appreciate its liturgical versatility.

“While the release of Love and Grace marks 50 years of my composing music for prayer and worship, it will surely not be the culmination of my life’s work as a composer,” says Schutte. “In some ways, I feel like I’m just getting started. And as a pilgrim on this journey of faith, I still have much to learn.

“Each of the songs on this new collection is born of a unique inspiration to address a need of the human heart when we gather for prayer and worship. It is my sincere hope that these songs strike a chord of truth in the minds and hearts of Christian men and women.”

OCP Publisher Wade Wisler says, “For decades now, Dan Schutte has truly fulfilled the vocation of liturgical composer, ‘cultivating sacred music and increasing its store of treasure’ (Sacrosanctum Concilium 121). That treasure has only grown with his latest collection. A master songwriter, he has perfected the craft of setting theologically rich texts to lovely, accessible melodies. These new songs are immediately singable, and inspire repeated use. When my 12-year-old daughter discovered ‘O How Blessed,’ she couldn’t stop singing it around the house, to our delight. It is OCP’s great honor to bring the art of Dan Schutte to the Church, for the praise and worship of God, and the sanctification of his people.”

This collection can be purchased in both CD and MP3 format, with music available in print and digital songbook. Order now at ocp.org/love-grace-pr.

Love and Grace can also serve as the perfect backdrop for an event at parishes, retreat centers and other faith communities.
