The Fort Hood shooter attended a mosque for five years in Maryland, where people are trying to figure out what made Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan turn violent. Muslim groups are condemning the attack as “blatantly …against the teachings of Islam.” A co-worker of Hasan’s told Fox News that Hasan said “Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor,” presumably referring to the U.S.

Washington voters approved an “everything but marriage” law for domestic partnerships. A Senate committee is working through religious exemptions in a proposed ENDA, which is not expected to see the light of day any time soon.

The U.S. ambassador to the Vatican says President Obama should be credited with saving the nation from another Great Depression, members of a Montana doomsday sect are at a lost after their prophet died, and Catholics in New Mexico said they’ll sleep better after the FBI made an arrest in the killing of a nun.


The first FLDS member to face criminal charges following last year’s massive raid in Texas was convicted of sexually assaulting an underage girl whom he took in a “spiritual marriage.” The Church of the Brethren is angry that Wells Fargo salespeople are calling members to bad-mouth their pension and retirement trust. The United Methodist Church is looking to get younger.
