WASHINGTON (RNS) President Obama bared his soul before a cross section of Christian leaders at a White House Easter breakfast on Tuesday (April 6), where he spoke publicly of his faith in redemption through Jesus in his most personal terms since becoming president. Addressing his “brothers and sisters in Christ” among the nearly 90 pastors, […]

And we’re supposed to jump for joy or something? I can’t concern myself about his religious preferences, however I do worry about what he says and then does.

  • Mike

I’m happy for him, but Hugo Chavez is a Christian too.

  • Buzzy Gran

When he stops killing unborn babies then I will announce from the roof tops that he is indeed a Christian.

  • By their fruits you shall know them. I don’t believe in his all of sudden religious fervor. He has done more to destroy innocent life.
This is a campaign to redo his image. Even the devil appeared to St. Padre Pio as an angel. Don’t buy it. But then again I could see through him before the election. Most Americans are gullible. They bought the false promises of a Utopia instead of concern for the unborn

  • Obama is a Muslim. A Marxist Muslim. Many wise biblical scholars believe the Anti-Christ would be a Muslim. If there was ever a person who fit the description of the Anti-Christ Obama would be it.

I don’t find anything religious about using lies to take away rights of the people. Anyone can give lip service to something this writer was obviously fishing to hear. A religious nature is not is this man’s actions.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. 11 Depart from me, you evildoers.’ (Mt 7:21-23)

I think this passage speaks well about our president.

A Christian believes that Jesus is God. If you do not believe that Jesus is God, always was God, even when He took on the nature of man then you are not a Christian. So maybe more people who claim to be Christians really aren’t.

    before in US History

has a “Christian president” (THE most pro-abortion pres ever!)

expressed to the entire world that

“We are no longer a Christian Nation”

And, THAT insulted EVERY American citizen.

  • A.N.R.

Sorry folks, I have a difficult time believing this. It’s probably just a political manuever ro draw Christians closer to this Administration. Anyone who professes to believe in Jesus would want to worship Him weekly, at least, at a Christian based church. This has not happened as yet and I don’t forsee it coming to be in the near future.

  • Edna Montemayor

Wow! All of a sudden this man speaks of his faith with such fervor! A SUDDEN CONVERSION??? Like the previous A.N.R. I do not believe it. So smooth and sleek!!

  • It is very very sad to see all the comments on people who call themselves christian and do not act as christians. Where are the gifts of the Spirit that according the word you profess you are supposed to have. Where is forgiveness, mercy, love, what happened to that word.

Or as some of you say are you also paying lip service!

Do not look at the piece of straw in your neighbors eye without looking at the log in your eyes!

Blessings, in the name of Yeshua de Nazaret

Sorry, Rick..we are NOT a Christian nation. We are a nation of many people who have many different religions. We are a diverse Nation.
    Get over it.

    A Tree and Its Fruit
15″Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21″Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
