No college football player has ever made more of a show of his evangelistic Christianity than Tim Tebow, who before every game inscribed a Bible verse number on the glare grease under his eyes. So it’s hard not to see his Denver Broncos teammates as making anything but a religious comment in hazing their new rookie by subjecting him to a classic monastic haircut. Catholic v. Protestant? I doubt it. In today’s mix-and-match Christian world, tonsure = religious (probably).
