The fact that Mitt Romney is now willing to pledge himself to support a constitutional ban on anything but one-man-one-woman marriage along with various other “pro-marriage” agenda items suggests that he’s now confident he can move to the right without anyone stealing GOP votes to his left. That would have been co-religionist Jon Huntman, whose campaign appears to be imploding. And since the world economy is itself imploding, there should be more than enough Independents (to say nothing of Democrats) who could care less what a GOP candidate pledged with respect to marriage on his way to the nomination.
