So wait a minute. Liberals and progressives, the Democratic party . . . scream and scream about minority rights. Literally scream and scream. But it was when THE MAJORITY decided to embrace homosexuals and homosexuality that gay marriage became a right?

What happens when a movement like Germany’s 20th century National Socialism (politics) takes over the minds and feelings of the majority in the USA?

So, the constitution is now open for a polling of the populace?

What a disgusting time in which we have entered.

“What happens when a movement like Germany’s 20th century National Socialism (politics) takes over the minds and feelings of the majority in the USA?”

We get attacks on civil liberties through legislative means such as gay marriage bans. Laws which lacked any rational and secular purpose. Amounting to legislative religious based discrimination violating the establishment clause.

“So, the constitution is now open for a polling of the populace?”

Irony does not suit you. Who were the people saying civil liberties are best decided by popular vote, legislative actions and referrenda? People like you and the minority of the Supreme Court in this decision.

We have the Bill of Rights because our system was hardwired against allowing the majority to vote away the rights of political minorities. The 14th Amendment gave the Supreme Court the power to apply those rules to state laws.
