The Temple of Hume

Even as Brit Hume continues on his quest to get Tiger Woods to convert to Christianity, Fox News is running a story on the benefits of, yes, meditation.

Says Fox, “The next time you have an extra ten minutes, consider stealing it for meditation … it could do wonders for your health and longevity.”

At least one Fox reader didn’t like the meditation advice, saying: “I find it curious that the author pushed yoga but not prayer. The ultimate stress-reliever is to hand our worries over to our Creator; the One who can actually solve them. Check out Philippians 4:6-7.”

Maybe Fox is following the biblical exhortation to not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Of course, Hume was talking about “forgiveness and redemption,” not stress and longevity.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, the Daily Show has done some very funny bits on “The Temple of Hume.”
