Global Sisters Report launches Spanish language edition: GSR en español

Global Sisters Report

On May 1, Global Sisters Report (GSR) launches GSR en español, an edition of its website with selected articles about sisters and columns by sisters — all either written originally in Spanish or professionally translated — with an emphasis on Latin America and Spain.

GSR has become an authority on sisters worldwide, unique in its award-winning, focused reporting on their ministries and publishing their written reflections about spiritual insights, religious life and their work in carrying out the Gospel message to care for others. With correspondents and freelancers on nearly every continent, GSR highlights trends in religious life as well as the unsung work of sisters: their tending to migrants, fight against human trafficking, defense of the environment, championing of the poor and marginalized, and countless other ministries.

While GSR has long written about sisters in Latin America, language has previously limited GSR’s ability to reach Spanish-speaking sisters to the extent they deserve. That changes with GSR en español.

Now equipped with a bilingual team of translators, editors, correspondents and freelancers, GSR en español will cater to the interests of our Spanish-speaking audience in Latin America and Spain, while also professionally translating articles featuring sisters all over the world.

“Reaching a Spanish-speaking audience has long been a goal of ours at Global Sisters Report, so we’re thrilled to launch GSR en español as a way of connecting with sisters and expanding our coverage,” says Soli Salgado, GSR international editor. “We look forward to introducing the life-giving work of Catholic sisters to new readers.”

GSR en español can be found at GlobalSistersReport.org/es.
