PORTLAND, Ore. — In collaboration with USCCB and World Youth Day, OCP is proud to present the English version of “Feel the Rush in the Air! / Há Pressa no Ar,” the official song of World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, taking place August 1-6. The song is available now to stream wherever you stream music.

The song, produced by OCP composer Josh Blakesley, features OCP performers Iván Díaz, P.J. Anderson, Dana Catherine and Mary Kate Westrich. The English lyrics were translated from the original Portuguese song by Tom Booth, Iván Díaz, Thomas Muglia and João Paulo Vaz.

“What an honor to be a part of the English translation of this song,” says OCP composer and artist Tom Booth. “We at OCP are so happy to be part of the mission of Pope Francis and the mission of the Catholic Church. We hope you enjoy this new song!”

“I received an invitation two years ago to work on this song,” says Iván Díaz. “My friend Josh Blakesley produced the track, and we invited very talented singers from OCP. I hope you enjoy and cherish this wonderful song.”

The music video for “Feel the Rush in the Air! / Há Pressa no Ar” is also available now, featuring talented young adult volunteers from St. Thomas University and the Archdiocese of Miami. The video also stars OCP composers and artists P.J. Anderson, Iván Díaz, Dana Catherine and Mary Kate Westrich.

“It was such a joy and an honor to be a part of this song,” says Mary Kate Westrich. “I’m so grateful I got to praise the Lord in this way. We hope you enjoy the song!”

World Youth Day 2023 takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, August 1-6. World Youth Day was inaugurated by Pope John Paull II after large turnouts at the 1984 Jubilee of Young People and the 1985 gathering for the International Year of Youth in Rome. It is celebrated every two to four years with a large international gathering, and every year on the Feast of Christ the King in local Catholic communities around the globe. In 2019, over 700,000 people attended the final Mass in Panama City, Panama. In 2023, organizers are anticipating over a million.
