"I’ve always liked that phrase 'He was visited by grief,'" says Stephen Colbert. "Grief is its own thing. It’s not like it’s in me and I’m going to deal with it. It’s a thing, and you have to be okay with its presence."
How can life move forward? How can there still be taxes to pay and sinks to scrub? How dare the crocuses peek out?
I am deeply sad and expect to be for months, if not years. But today I return to blogging because one of the ways I can honor my mother is by continuing to write.
